The transition from the Nursery to the Children’s House, and from the Children’s House to Primary School, represents an important moment of growth, discovery, and transformation for every child.
In our school, this step is experienced as a natural and harmonious journey, in which the child continues to develop their autonomy, curiosity, and self-confidence, supported with care and attention as they approach this new stage of growth.

A bridge built on observation and respect for each child’s timing
The Harmonisation Project is based on the idea that every child carries with them a wealth of experiences, skills, and relationships that deserve to be welcomed and valued. Teachers collaborate continuously, observing the children, sharing documentation, and building a shared pathway that respects each individual rhythm. Together, they construct a journey that embraces what each child has already become and prepares the ground for all that is still to flourish.
In this way, continuity becomes an invisible thread linking experiences, emotions, and relationships.

Shared experiences and prepared environments
Throughout the year, children take part in moments that bring older and younger groups together: shared workshops, games, storytelling, practical life activities, and outdoor exploration. The older children show the younger ones how to use the materials, how to move through the environment, and how to work together.
The younger ones observe with admiration, then try, experiment, and discover that they are able to do things independently.
It is a natural transition, made up of simple gestures and glances that express trust.
The Montessori environments, carefully designed and refined in every detail, support autonomy and allow children to move confidently in new contexts that remain consistent with what they already know.

The adult as a guiding presence
Throughout this process, the adult is a discreet presence. They observe, listen, and support without taking over.
Their role is not to lead from above but to walk alongside the child, offering both safety and freedom.
As Maria Montessori reminded us, “education is an aid to life”: our task is to accompany each child on their path, supporting them as they move from one stage to the next with trust and respect.
“Help me to do it by myself” is the most authentic expression of the growing child.

A journey of trust
The Harmonisation Project is not an isolated moment, but a way of seeing the child as a developing being, carrying their own rhythm, their own light, and their own story.
It is a journey shared by children, teachers, and families, turning growth into an experience of continuity and joy.
In this passage, children learn that change does not mean losing, but continuing to grow together, in a journey of freedom, respect, and wonder.
