In twelve verses, Gianni Rodari manages to paint a fantastic place, full of discovery, fun and energy. At My School Ticino we try to make this wonderful world real, materialising it not only during the summer holidays, but also during the four weeks of cantonal holidays, our My Weeks!
During the holidays we ‘do a lot of work’: we give space and voice to new experiences, new encounters and new learning. Every week we try to let ourselves be inspired by curiosities from the world, stories that allow us to travel through time and space and enrich our thinking.
Through creative and motor activities we put ourselves at play, or rather at work, through endless discoveries experimenting with new skills.
Reading Rodari’s verses, we all went back in our memories to the warm and comfortable places of childhood, where the reassuring voice of an adult, the smile of a friend and a simple shared snack could be the start of a special day, one of those you carry in your heart forever.
That’s it: My Extra School Service, especially during the holidays, wants to be just that: a reassuring place where you can be yourself and where you can take care of play in all its forms!
