My School Ticino participated in the 2024 edition of the “Settimana del Gusto” – a national event that promotes sustainable nutrition for health and good eating habits in early childhood. For the occasion, the chefs and nutrition experts at My School presented a themed weekly menu “Grains on our tables” for all students between September 16th and 20th. The goal of this initiative? To educate children and students about the importance of a healthy diet with locally sourced products. We believe that fostering curiosity about the origin of food and the variety of ingredients is crucial during the developmental years, along with discovering new foods and flavours in good company.
During this week of balanced eating and healthy lifestyle promotion, My School also joyfully celebrated a significant recognition. Fourchette Verte, the prestigious label for balanced nutrition, has awarded our institution the ‘Fourchette Verte Junior’ certification, building on the recognition we received in 2018. On this occasion, the kitchen brigade, educators, and project coordinators organized a cooking workshop for a small group of My Extra students, titled “Spelt and Barley Fettuccine, How Delicious!”. The result was a fun and tasty dish to take home and share with families.
At My School Ticino, we take pride in promoting initiatives that encourage high-quality, healthy, and nutritious eating, preferably sourced locally, while raising awareness among students and families through workshops, dedicated projects, and conferences. Among the themed activities, our students will participate in the Colouring Contest organized this autumn by the Semaine Suisse du Goût, titled “Your Favourite Pasta.” As part of the My School for Parents initiative, we will be hosting the “Nutrition Conference 0-10 years” at the school this October 26th, open to the entire community. Registration is mandatory from here.
Balanced, healthy eating is a right for everyone, starting from day one!
