The editorial office of My School Magazine is born, or rather reborn after a time of reflection!
The first issue came out in December 2023: the editorial team deliberately decided to print this first edition in pink, precisely to recall a famous sports newspaper.
The members of the editorial staff meet every Tuesday afternoon and dedicate themselves to the conception, research, drafting, titling and illustration of the articles. Pupils are free to work in small groups or individually, as long as everyone feels comfortable. As for this first issue, each working group has reflected on the significant events of the first months of the school year, developing a total of 5 articles, chosen and agreed upon by the small editorial team.
Sergio Del Vecchio is the project’s lead educator. His effort lies in enabling the authors to write the articles, without ever conditioning their drafting. It is an evolving process and like any learning experience it requires time, dedication, mistakes, reflections and adjustments.
Every article in the first issue, by the authors’ choice, was written in Italian; the aim for the next issues is to promote writing in both Italian and English. There are a few mistakes in the articles here and there: in verb tenses, grammar, punctuation or sentence structure; these are not superficial or distracting errors, but are there precisely because of their value in the learning process.
Each issue of the magazine is sent by email to all families; you can also consult a printed copy outside the school office, or at the entrance to the extracurricular area. Stay tuned: the second issue is coming out soon, and it includes a small improvement!
