Jolly Phonics is multi-sensory phonics programme that uses a synthetic phonics approach to teach reading and writing.
Through a range of activities, songs, actions, and games, Jolly Phonics introduces children to the 42 letter sounds of the English language and teaches them how to blend these sounds together to form words. This programme helps build a strong foundation in phonemic awareness, letter-sound correspondence and decoding skills, which are crucial for word pronunciation and early reading success.
Jolly Phonics also teaches the 72 ‘tricky’ words, common words that occur frequently, but which cannot be sounded out using phonics. By learning these tricky words children improve their reading fluency, comprehension and overall language skills.

Jolly Grammar complements Jolly Phonics by teaching grammar and punctuation rules in a systematic and child-friendly manner. Jolly Grammar covers a wide range of topics, including parts of speech, sentence structure, verb tenses, punctuation marks, alternative spellings and more. Through engaging activities, stories, and exercises, Jolly Grammar helps children develop a solid understanding of grammar concepts which they can then apply effectively in their writing.

Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar are integrated into the literacy curriculum using text books and digital classroom resources to provide a comprehensive and structured approach to language learning. These programmes cater to different learning styles, making learning enjoyable and accessible for all students. By incorporating interactive and hands-on activities, Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar foster a love for language learning and help students build confidence in their reading, writing, and communication skills.
